Sales Goal Calculator
Start with the income you want this month. See how many deals, appointments, conversations and dials it takes, and what a better close rate would save you.
Example numbers are filled in. Use your own from your CRM or call log; your rates matter more than anyone's averages.
- Commission you need this month
- $8,000
- Commission per deal
- $800
- Deals to close
- 10
- Appointments to run
- 40
- Conversations to have
- 200
- Dials to make this month
- 2,000
Raise your close rate from 25% to 30% and you need 81 dials a day instead of 96. Better closing is cheaper than more dialing.
How the sales goal calculator works
It subtracts your base pay from your income goal to find the commission you still need. Then it walks your funnel backward: commission per deal gives deals, your close rate gives appointments, your booking rate gives conversations, and your contact rate gives dials. Each result rounds up, because you cannot close half a deal.
Use it every week, not once
Your rates change. Update them from your CRM or call log every Friday and the daily dial number becomes a plan instead of a guess. If one month runs hot and the next goes cold, our guide to building consistent sales performance shows how to tell a process problem from normal timing.

Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate close rate?
Divide the deals you closed by the opportunities you worked, then multiply by 100. Closing 6 of 24 appointments is a 25% close rate. Use the same definition every month, appointments or proposals, so the number means something.
How many calls do I need to make to hit my goal?
Work backward. Divide the commission you need by your commission per deal to get deals, divide deals by your close rate to get appointments, divide appointments by your booking rate to get conversations, then divide by your contact rate to get dials. This calculator does those steps for you.
What is a good close rate in sales?
It depends on the sales model. A rep closing inbound leads who asked for a quote should close far more than a rep running cold first meetings. Compare yourself with your own last quarter and with reps selling the same thing, not with a number from another industry.
Why does a small close-rate increase matter so much?
Every step of the funnel multiplies. A few more points of close rate cut the appointments, conversations and dials you need all at once, which is why the calculator shows what five more points would save you.
Can I use this as a sales quota calculator?
Yes. Enter your quota as commission needed by setting the income goal to your target and base pay to zero, or enter your real base and goal to see what your personal number takes.
